A kangaroo court has just sentenced Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny to a prison camp for two and a half years for allegedly violating his parole, while he was in a coma thanks to a Kremlin poisoning plot. Western leaders duly condemned injustice, but it seems like everything is being talked about.
After all, President Biden has just extended the treaty on the New Start arms limit, which favors Moscow, for five years, while Germany continues to move forward with a Nord Stream natural gas pipeline that will give Putin a greater influence on border states such as Ukraine.
Put aside this “internal issue,” as Putin’s minions call it: with its wars (representatives and others), its Olympic traps, its cyber attacks, and its meddling in the elections of other countries and the his capture of the territory of other countries, has shown the Russian strongman himself an enemy of civilized norms. It’s time to stop doing business with him, knit and start treating him like the pariah he should be.
