The successful exponent of the reggaeton genre Ramn Luis Ayala Rodrguez, better known as Daddy Yankee (43), became a celebrity among the public who adore Latin music. He is a millionaire, popular and recognized for his art. However, he does not forget his humble organs. Nor the teachings that left him some marks of his own hard past.
The artist lived difficult moments in his life that accompany him as part of his identity even though he steps on the red carpets of important events and codifies with the most exclusive international celebrities.

The singer, producer, composer and businessman began his career at the age of 14 when he dedicated himself to Latin rap music and salsa. It was at this time, when I live in a very humble neighborhood of Puerto Rico, that was hit by a bullet.
In this time there is a debate between his interest in music and his desire to become a baseball player, a universe from which comes the stage name of King of Reggaetn. The anecdote was shared by himself in an interview he gave to the program El Hormiguero in 2017.
His dream of becoming a professional player in this sport was truncated when he received a bullet that shattered his hip and had to take refuge in music.
The bullet came from an AK-47 rifle and the singer confesses to feeling a huge impact followed by immense fear. After the bullet, he ran to hide to save his life and was rescued by a neighborhood addict. That’s why Daddy Yankee claims to have never had prejudices with them.
Although, apparently, the assault was a mistake and the assailant wanted to DAAR another young man, drugs, violence and alcohol surrounded Daddy Yankee’s years of upbringing. Those years were behind him when he achieved his first successes with music and his hit Gasolina el Coloc on the international scene.
However, the singer is steadfast in keeping his feet on the ground and not feeding his ego. He already owns his apartment in Puerto Rico because, he confesses, it reminds him where he comes from and that he needs to keep working, beyond his luxurious collection of cars, jewelry and fortune. His humility and his roots are two of the characteristics that most connect his audience, in addition to his contagious rhythm and his magnificent personality.
