The twins have agreed to a $ 6.25 million one-year deal with a veteran relief Alex Colomé, a source told Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. The club has not confirmed the deal.

Colomé will be paid $ 5 million in 2021 with a $ 5.5 million mutual option in 2022 or a $ 1.25 million purchase, a source told Feinsand.

Colomé, 32, could step into the role closest to Minnesota after Taylor Rogers and Sergio Romo split from closing duties in 2020. Rogers continues with the club, but Romo is a free agent.

Colomé recorded a 0.81 ERA with a 0.94 WHIP and 12 savings on 22 1/3 innings last season for the White Sox, who signed Liam Hendriks for a four-year contract. Right-hander Colomé has recorded 138 saves since early 2016, placing third in the MLB behind Kenley Jansen and Edwin Díaz during that period.

Over the course of eight major league seasons with the Rays, Mariners and White Sox, Colomé has recorded an ERA of 2.95 with 385 attacks and 140 runs in 424 innings.
