BARCELONA – The recovery of Ansu Fati keeps Barcelona in suspense and has gone from being worrisome to sounding the alarms.
The young Barça striker, who underwent surgery on 9 November for an internal meniscus fracture in his left knee that was, in principle, to be out for four months, was again operated on in secret in January and is not rules out having to go through surgery again. The news, advanced by TV3, could be confirmed by ESPN, so it will most likely not play again this season.
The primary goal of the doctors, as well as the club and the footballer himself, is to regain his knee one hundred percent, not wanting to set any deadlines for the youth of Ansu, 18, and putting above of all an absolute recovery.
On Tuesday, ESPN already reported that the player’s recovery was not developing as expected and that, therefore, it was contemplated that his reappearance, initially expected for mid-March, would be delayed, in order not to take any risks. The situation, however, is more troubling than it seemed.
The second operation of the footballer, led again by Dr. Cugat, was carried out in the utmost secrecy, by express wish of Ansu and Barcelona, aware of the situation, did not give any information about the same. In fact, the club’s latest statement regarding the player dates back to January 4, days before this second intervention.
The forecasts, however, are not the best. Last week, ESPN learned, inflammation of the knee when he forced physical work was a constant and this forced him to stop, reducing his exercises, being re-examined by Dr. Cugat and assessing the possibility of a third operation, which will be decided in the coming weeks if it does not improve ostensibly.
