Arms control activist David Hogg says he starts one pillow fight – against MyPillow CEO and Trump supporter Mike Lindell. The 20-year-old he said on Twitter begins a pillow company, taking Lindell.
Hogg, who survived the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, began tweeting on pillows on Tuesday, tweeting: “Radom’s question: what are your main complaints about your current pillows? ? ” His tweet came the same day Lindell, a supporter of Trump, raised theories of electoral conspiracy during an interview with Newsmax, a conservative cable channel.
Hogg then said he was looking for a consultant and later said he was starting a business with an entrepreneur William LeGate.
“I want to hire a consultant with experience in the American manufacturing industry who can refer me and help me coordinate the manufacture of a rectangular support for neck ties and sustainable manufacturing for sleeping on the go to sleep”. tweeted on Tuesday, asking interested parties to contact LeGate.
On Thursday, he shared more details about the company, tweeting that the pillows will join the United States and that the company will emphasize supporting progressive causes. He also said he “will not attempt to overthrow the white supremacist of the U.S. government,” apparently by digging up Trump supporters, such as Lindell, who believed in unfounded allegations of election fraud. Some of these supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6, violating security in a violent riot.
Hogg also said they “expect to hire inceaserateb in the past [sic] people, veterinarians and workers from my pillow in case we stop working on them, but we have to work more on logistics and production and stuff. “
Lindell has responded to Hogg’s plans for a pillow company, telling Axios, “Good for them … nothing bad in competition that doesn’t infringe on someone’s patent.”
Hogg tweeted Axios’ article Thursday, writing: “Mike, my ‘pillow type,’ comments on his progressive competition too soon in the form of a progressive pillow company @Williamlegate and I’m starting. This pillow fight became very real. ”
Hogg said in a tweet that he and LaGate do not yet have a name for the company. “We want to get the pillow out as quickly as possible, but we won’t sacrifice quality for time,” he wrote another tweet. “It’s also surprisingly difficult to find a unionized pillow manufacturer in the United States, but we’ll keep looking. It’ll only take time.”
CBS News contacted Hogg and LeGate, as well as Lindell, via MyPillow. A MyPillow representative did not comment on Hogg’s plans for the company and Hogg and LeGate did not immediately respond to the request for comment.
Hogg has publicly taken on others who have sold conspiracy theories. “Today we have set up a pillow company and removed MTG from all committee work. We have removed all these rebels with the power of the free market they claim to love,” Hogg posted in a tweet. Thursday, referring to Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was removed from his duties by the House committee after social media posts and videos made before she was elected to Congress resurfaced, showing her embracing a range of far-right conspiracy theories and suggesting support for violence against Democrats.
Greene was too seen in a video facing Hogg at the US Capitol in 2019. The video, which resurfaced last month, shows Greene making false claims and following Hogg, who became one of the leaders of the March for Our Lives movement after a gunman opened fire on his institute and killed 17 people.
