Breath of the Wild 100% speed undamaged

It took “six months and 100 restorations”

Well, with thousands of people still playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild almost every hour of the day, even years after its release: 100% less damage should occur at some point. But speed racer JoeDun can claim to be the first to do so.

Announcing the realization on Twitter, JoeDun has shared as they did in the following video. Let’s break it down together.

Here is the set of rules that JoeDun says is extracted from the speedrunning community settings:

  • All containers and heart updates
  • All side missions, main missions and sanctuary missions and side missions
  • Completely 100% map (shrines, coroks, towers)
  • All permanent inventory items and ruins completely updated
  • Acquire all the permanent armor

And here’s JoeDun’s “harmless” set of personal rules:

  • Any physical damage counts as damage, even a quarter of a heart or a yellow heart (except for forced custom damage)
  • It should not be recharged after being damaged, it should be fully reset (but it can be charged as a precaution before damaging it)

That’s … a lot to achieve! Keep in mind that while the technical issues were fair play, including the moon jump, heartbreak / resistance, and the freezing error of the time of day. But they still need to erase all the things … listed above without suffering any damage. Hyrule Castle is described as a “personal hell” and is removed very soon to obtain objects such as the Hylian Shield and a multitude of arches. He was responsible for approximately 30 runs lost on his own.

His new video will guide you through his strategy to overcome the challenge and is a fascinating watch. JoeDun talks about how they not only want to complete the game “as fast as possible,” but “as safely as possible.” It is very weighing constantly! And a lot of pressure.
