President Joe Biden said he does not believe former President Trump should continue to receive intelligence reports, which depends on Mr. Biden’s discretion as commander-in-chief. Norah O’Donnell, presenter and director of “CBS Evening News,” spoke with Mr. Biden in the network’s first news interview he has offered since taking office. It will air at 4pm before the Super Bowl on Sunday. .
“Well, let me ask you something that you have control over as president,” O’Donnell said. “Should former President Trump still receive intelligence information?”
Former presidents often have the opportunity to receive intelligence information as a courtesy.
“I don’t think so,” replied Mr. Biden.
“Why not?” O’Donnell asked.
“Because of his erratic behavior unrelated to the insurrection,” Biden said.

The president did not delve into his concerns about what might happen if Trump continues to receive briefings, but questioned what value he could add to the country.
“I’d rather not speculate out loud,” Mr. Biden said. “I just don’t think you need to have informative information. What value does intelligent information give you? What impact does it have, other than the fact that you could escape and say something?”
Earlier this week, Mr. Biden said he hoped to work with Republicans on a COVID-19 financial relief plan, but said Friday he wanted to act quickly. Biden told O’Donnell he will not move for the $ 1,400 stimulus control, but is willing to negotiate who meets the requirements for the controls and whether to include a minimum wage increase to $ 15 per hour.
He said he does not believe an increase in the minimum wage will end up making it the American rescue plan.
The president said the $ 15 minimum wage apparently “will not occur because of U.S. Senate rules.”

“I’ve put it on, but I don’t think it survives,” Biden added.
Instead, the president said he was prepared to work on an independent $ 15 minimum wage proposal.
“I guess it won’t be there,” the president said about the nationwide time increase included in the American Rescue Plan. “But I think we should have a minimum wage, stand on our own, $ 15 an hour and work until – it doesn’t have to be a boom. And the whole economy shows, if you do, the whole I’m ready, as president of the United States in a separate negotiation on the minimum wage, to move forward from what it is now, that is, look, no one should work 40 hours a week and live below poverty And if you earn less than 15 dollars per hour, you will live below the poverty line. “
The full interview will air Sunday at 4pm ET before the Super Bowl, only on CBS.
