Lebron James expressed his displeasure at the NBA All-Star Game this season. James leads the first round of All-Star fan voting in the Western Conference, with more than two million votes (2,288,676), and while there is no doubt that James will be present at the show, he will not do so with the pleasure of participating.
“I have zero energy and zero excitement for the All-Star game,” James expressed after the Lakers ’114-93 victory over the Nuggets on Thursday night. “I don’t know why we’ll have it, but it was the deal with the players’ association.”
The NBA announced that there will be a All-Star Game this season, although it was originally canceled due to the pandemic. Following talks between the League and the Players Association, it was determined that the traditional event, as well as individual contests, would be held on March 7 in Atlanta.
“We already had a very short low season, a 71-day break between one season and another for me and my teammates, we also continued to struggle with a pandemic and its aftermath and we will move the whole league to a city that is unrestricted. I am not very happy about it, but it is out of my hands. I will be here physically, but not mentally, “noted an annoyed James.
James, who is in his 18th season in the NBA, continues to play at a highly competitive level. It is having a high effectiveness in shots fired, especially long distance. He currently has an effectiveness of over 40 percent in triples, the highest in this area of his career.
“He continues to show up as the best player in the league, I think it’s worth mentioning how well he’s pitching from the perimeter,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said. “Someone who is in his 18th season and continues to evolve his game. He talks about the player he is, how he impacts the game and his mindset of continuing to grow and improve his way of playing.”
At 36 years old, James averages 25.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game this season.
“I’ve never set a limit as far as I can go. I always have the mindset of looking at how I can improve my game,” LeBron shared. “I feel like a better player than last year. It helps my team when I can improve on the staff and I feel like I’ve done that.”
