“That’s pretty low and maybe it breaks the laws,” Poloncarz told Athletic on Friday.

Since New Jersey traveled to Buffalo on Tuesday to face the Sabers last weekend, teams have had 22 players entering the COVID-19 protocols. Sabers coach Ralph Krueger has a confirmed case.

“In my eyes, the NHL should have taken more steps to ensure the safety of the players on both teams and those around them,” Poloncarz said. “They seemed more interested in playing a game.”
