ALERT: Winter storm alert in New York, Long Island and parts of the three-state area
Sunday will be windy with snow at varying rates, and will be reduced in the late afternoon.
The heaviest snowfall is expected between 11:00 and 14:00
Untreated roads will be snowy and slippery as they accumulate three to six inches of snow for most areas, but are possible 6 to 10 inches east of Long Island, which will be closer to the storm track. South Jersey should expect less snow due to the milder temperatures that allow for mixed rain.

Expect one or three inches north and west of the city, as these areas will be far removed from much of the humidity with this storm.
Some rain and sleet could initially mix on the shore before the snow took control.
And have these shovels on hand next week. On Tuesday we may have another round of snow or rain giving way to very cold Arctic air.
