The Mets lost center star George Springer, who signed with the Blue Jays for a six-year, $ 150 million contract. They were also in talks with Red Sox free agent Jackie Bradley Jr.

A good glove who has fought offensively the last two seasons, Almora believes will serve as an alternative for the right to Brandon Nimmo. In 28 games during the reduced 2020 season, Almora had a diagonal line of .167 / .265 / .200 in just 34 plate appearances. In 2019, Almora reduced .236 / .271 / .381 with 12 homers and 32 RBI in 363 appearances on the plate.
