I don’t know exactly why I’m doing this, but I’ll predict a lot of things for next season and then we’ll be able to check back later to see how good or bad it was. I think there’s a decent amount we can extrapolate from what we’ve seen here so far, and that’s what I can see on the horizon of Destiny 2’s chosen season.
1. The Caiatl Alliance
We already know the basics of this season’s plot. Caiatl arrives and wants to forge an alliance, as we both fight Darkness and Savathun and Xivu Arath. But Zavala will not submit to Caiatl, so we start fighting. But what do we really do? I think the whole plot of this season and the activities of “Battlegrounds” where we fight against “Caiatl’s Champions” should be a test. I mean there’s literally something called Test Hammer and the new strike is called Proving Grounds. We prove ourselves to Caiatl as worthy warriors and I think yes, in the end we will end up in an alliance with Caiatl after showing him our strength. I guess he destroyed the Red Legion and all of Calus’s Leviathan games weren’t enough, but I think that’s where he’s finally headed.

2. The Secret Tex Mechanica Exotic is not the first curse
I know there are some First Curse fans out there who would like me to return this weapon, but I don’t think it’s any here. We just had Hawkmoon, another exotic D1 handgun, which appeared as the main weapon all last season, so another exotic D1 handgun would feel a bit alike. After that, when Bungie returns exotic from D1, unless they are buried in a SUPER secret mission like Zero Hour, they are used quite a bit in promotion, Hawkmoon, No Time to Explain, and so on. I guess this is a new weapon from Tex Mechanica and mine hope is that it is the lever rifle that the community has been asking for.

3. There is a third exotic secret
I know we have one revealed (Ticuu’s Wrath) and another that is shown but still secret (First Curse / Not First Curse), but two exotics in a season seem pretty low, and my guess is that there are a less one more to come. We also know that there are three new pieces of exotic armor that haven’t been proven at all, but my money is on an exotic third that joins these two before the season is over.

4. The heir apparently returns with his catalyst
Guardian Games is at the end of this season, due to the setback after the delay of Beyond Light. It seems pretty obvious that Heir Apparent (the weapon that bears Caiatl’s name, no more and no less) will reappear for the event, which is why he has stayed out of the exotic kiosk. But I also think we will finally get a catalyst, as it appears in the damn catalyst art for collections. Like Leviathan’s Breath, and that got a catalyst last season. Seems like the perfect time for that.

5. Raven will be the vanguard of the hunter at the end of the season
Almost all of my Crow predictions end badly, but we can see that it’s a key part of this season, appearing on stage alongside Zavala while dealing with Caiatl. I think it will be a kind of “training period” for him and in the end he will win Zavala and take Cayde’s old place once everyone understands that he is no longer the man who killed him. The paper has been empty for two years. It’s time, and there really is no other candidate.
Okay, that’s all I have right now. We will check again in three months to see how right or wrong it was.
