Two young children have been found after the minivan they were in was stolen when their father jumped to deliver food to San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO – Two young children were found in the early hours of Sunday after the theft of the minivan they were in when their father jumped to distribute food in San Francisco, authorities reported.
Jeffrey Fang had his 4-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son with him while delivering Saturday night by DoorDash, San Francisco police reported.
He left the Honda Odyssey around 8:45 p.m. to drop off an order in the Pacific Heights neighborhood, and when he returned, he saw a stranger driving in the van.
“I called him and told him to get out and two of my kids were in the car,” Fang told ABC 7 TV in San Francisco. Fang called the police and a search began.
“Times are tough, if you have to resort to theft, that’s a different matter, but please don’t hurt my kids. Please return me and my wife safely, ”Fang begged.
Police announced on Twitter shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday that the children and the minivan were in the city’s Bayview district.
“The children will be medically evaluated and will meet with their parents,” the police statement said. “The suspects are still pending.”
There was no information on one or other suspects.
