The Tampa Bay defense suffocated Patrick Mahomes all night and the Kansas City Chiefs and Buccaneers got a decisive 31-9 victory over Super Bowl LV. Tom Brady, who already held the record for most Super Bowl wins by any player, has now won his seventh championship.
The Chiefs failed to score a touchdown, as Muhammad was busting in the backfield every time. Muhammad finished the game with 2 interceptions and went 26/49 for 270 yards. Brady, who broke his own oldest quarterback record to win a Super Bowl, threw 3 touchdowns and went for 201 passing yards, going 21/29. Brady was also named MVP of the Super Bowl.
Tampa Bay is the first team to play and win the Super Bowl at their home stadium.
The Weeknd was the only performer of the half part show this year. Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan sang the national anthem before the release and ELA performed “America the Beautiful.” Amanda Gorman, who shot to stardom after reading an original poem at the opening, he became the first poet in history to read a poem in a Super Bowl.
