Pastor who prophesied Jesus’ arrival in Colombia escaped with the money of his faithful

A professor of literature, owner of an impeccable resume and author of various academic texts. So is the pastor Gabriel Alberto Ferrer Ruiz, Who a few weeks ago said that Jesus was going to arrive in the Isabel López district of Sabanalarga, in the Colombian state of the Atlantic, on January 28.

For the arrival of Jesus in this small town, the pastor prepared his religious community, which he led with his wife, Yolanda Rodriguez.

He told them that they had to make a prolonged fast to purify their body and soul, to leave their jobs and sell their properties.

And is that after the alleged arrival of Jesus you didn’t have to have a job, a house or money.

even Ferrer Ruiz left his post as a full-time professor at Atlantic University: “I am resigning from Atlantic University because I want to pursue the target, to see if I can achieve that for which I was also taken by Christ. Jesus, ”he said in a letter sent to the rectory of this educational institution.

Faced with this resignation, some teachers they knew Ferrer years ago he had been asked by the university not to accept the resignation and to be offered psychological help instead.

In addition, they claimed that he and his wife were committed to religion, but in recent months had reached an inexplicable level of fanaticism.

It was learned from the pastor that he had recently lost a daughter.

Jesus did not come

But on the day when he was supposed to arrive Jesus nothing happened. In fact, up to that point the community, which was made up of about 30 people, had news of its religious leader, to whom, industry neighbors have said, many gave him money.

After this situation, this Monday the story transpired in the media, which reported that no one in the municipality knew where the pastor was.

Some people have already filed lawsuits against Ferrer, As this one would have been left with his money.

Many of the followers came as far north as Barranquilla, where the shepherd’s residence is, but did not find him.

Sabanalarga ‘s Secretary of the Interior, Vicente Berdugo, told THE WEATHER this Monday that the authorities have not had contact with Gabriel Ferrer Ruiz: “We have never had contact with the pastor. He lives in Barranquilla, his last name is Ferrer, but until January 29 we had no contact with him.”

Christ’s arrival, Ferrer said, was at 11:59 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28. But the date came and there were no signs, so some questioned pastor.

His response was that “those who died in holiness with the faith of Christ will be resurrected in a few days.”
