A lawyer for former President Donald Trump has withdrawn his already granted request to suspend the impeachment trial during Jewish Saturday, according to reports.
Trump’s attorney general, David Schoen, a Jewish observer, sent a letter to Senate leaders on Monday reversing course, calling for the trial to continue Friday night and Saturday to avoid delays. in accordance with Fox News reporter Chad Pergram.
Schoen, a la carte which was obtained for Pergram, he noted that “he will not participate during Saturday; but the role he would have played will be fully covered to the satisfaction of the defense team.”
His initial request was accepted by Senate leaders, who announced Monday that the impeachment trial would be suspended at 5 p.m. on Friday and would meet again on Sunday.
It was not immediately clear whether Schoen’s withdrawal would lead to a change in the dismissal schedule, which begins Tuesday afternoon with arguments about his constitutionality.
