Fernando Colunga will no longer be part of the new original Telemundo series.
In early 2020, Telemundo Global Studios announced with fanfare that Fernando Colunga would play the protagonist of the television series “Malverde: The Holy Patron” which is scheduled to premiere in 2021. According to information reviewed by L’Opinió, Colunga would have given up Telemundo’s dramatic production because he did not agree with many aspects related to the story and the character he would play.
For his part, the Mexican actor has not issued a press release to comment on his departure from the original series of Telemundo which is scheduled to hit the small screen in 2021.
In a press release, the Spanish-speaking television channel confirmed that Colunga will no longer be part of the project: “Telemundo has made a creative decision to work with Fernando Colunga on other future projects, so he will not be part of the project. “We are delighted that Fernando is part of the Telemundo family, and we are already developing two new projects together by the end of this year.”
The recordings of “Malverde: The Holy Patron” are scheduled to begin soon in Mexico, so Telemundo would already have a replacement after the abrupt departure of Fernando Colunga from the project.
