Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott signs a multi-year contract extension

Fox News Media announced this CEO Suzanne Scott has signed a multi-year agreement with Fox Corporation, in clear sign of support for the chief executive.

Head of Fox Corporation Lachlan Murdoch said about Scott in a statement: “Suzanne’s stellar leadership and business acumen are evident through FOX News Media. Fox News has recently made changes to its programming, as they deal with a new political media landscape after the end of the Trump administration, which suffered a historic decline in process ratings. The cable outlet, once dominant in the charts, was in third place for most of January, a month that also saw CNN enjoy its best viewer in history. Fox indices have begun to normalize from post-election lows.

Fox News also faces lawsuits from voting system companies like Dominion and Smartmatic, which sued the network and three of its top hosts for $ 2.7 billion for false election-related claims. NEW YORK, NY – February 9, 2021— Fox Corporation (Nasdaq: FOXA, FOX) signed Suzanne Scott on a new multi-year contract to maintain her current role as CEO of FOX News Media, announced Lachlan Murdoch, executive chairman and chief executive officer of Fox Corporation, to whom he will continue to report.

In May 2018, Scott was named the first female CEO of FOX News. In this role, he expanded the FOX News Channel brand to a cross-platform hub now known as FOX News Media. FOX News Media includes linear channels, FOX News Channel (FNC) and FOX Business Network (FBN); the direct consumer streaming services FOX Nation and FOX News International, which Scott launched in 2018 and 2020 respectively; FOX News Digital and FOX News Audio, both of which renewed; FOX News Books, which Scott launched in 2020; and the upcoming FOX Weather platform, for which it announced plans in 2020.
