The NTSB detailed that pilot Ara Zobayan, who also died in the accident, he became disoriented when flying through the fog that was that day in a mountainous area west of Los Angeles (USA).

Authorities said Zobayan was thus against the rules of his training, as when flying between thick clouds and with limited visibility a pilot may come to think that he is going uphill when in fact he is losing altitude. This was what happened in this accident, according to the NTSB, which has recalled today that the pilot had pointed to air control, shortly before crashing, that he was gaining altitude to overcome the clouds even though he was in fact descending .
