Patrick Mahomes paid tribute to GOAT after falling short in the 2021 Super Bowl.
“You’re a legend, man,” Muhammad told Tom Brady after the Buccaneers fell 31-9 on Sunday.
Brady replied, “You’re a student, brother.”
The Super Bowl was advertised as a match not to be missed between Brady, the 43-year-old marvel, and Muhammad, the 25-year-old whom some already consider one of the best quarterbacks of all time.
But while Brady did his part, throwing 201 yards and three touchdowns on his way to winning his seventh Super Bowl record (more than any NFL franchise) and fifth-place MVP, Muhammad threw two interceptions as the Chiefs they didn’t get a touchdown.
The Big Game marked the second playoff meeting between the two quarterbacks, with Brady winning the first in the 2019 AFC Championship.
After this game, Brady famously pushed Muhammad away to have a conversation.
Muhammad won the Super Bowl and MVP award the following season.
