There has been a lot of talk that Nintendo could re-release a bunch of old Link games in an All-Star style collection similar to Mario’s released last year, but Nintendo itself has yet to say anything about the which is scheduled for Zelda’s big birthday.

Now, though, yes some news related to the Zelda series (usually) courtesy of the Pokekalos webmaster @KeliosFR.

It has been discovered that Nintendo introduced a new brand in Australia late last year for the release of DS 2007 The Legend of Zelda: The Ghost Hourglass and was accepted in November. This game, starring Link and Captain Linebeck, is a sequel to the success of GameCube, Wind Waker and made use of touch screen inputs.

In the trademark description, it includes all the usual aspects, such as video game programs and downloadable programs. Of course, brands don’t necessarily guarantee there’s something on the way, but again, it’s a big anniversary for The Legend of Zelda, so who knows what might happen.

On a related note, Nintendo currently has another 17 trademarks pending.
