The monolith, 3 meters high, was discovered near the UNESCO World Heritage Site called Göbekli Tepe, which has megalithic structures dating back to the tenth millennium BC. thousands of years older than Stonehenge.
Authorities are reviewing security camera videos and investigating vehicles that may have carried the monolith, Turkish media reported on Sunday.
In recent months, other mysterious monoliths have appeared, and some have disappeared, in several countries.
