The Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals and New York Mets have agreed a three-way trade that will send Fenway goalkeeper Andrew Benintendi to KC, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported Wednesday night.
Khalil Lee, an offside Royals player, will go to the Mets, while Royals cameraman Franchy Cordero will go to the Red Sox, with other players involved, sources told ESPN.
Benintendi, once part of the Red Sox ‘s famous out-of-town core, lost most of the pandemic-reduced 2020 season, and landed on the injured list on Aug. 12 due to tension from the right rib cage, with which Boston later excluded him for the year.
