TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Starting Friday, COVID-19 vaccines will begin at more than 100 Walmart and Sam’s Club stores across Florida.
Gov. Ron DeSantis said the state expects to receive more than 65,000 doses of the Modern COVID-19 vaccine this week as part of the Federal Pharmacy Program.
This supply will be shipped to hundreds of Publix, Walmart, Sam’s Club and Winn-Dixie pharmacies across Florida.
“We will continue to work hard. You can’t stop smoking when it comes to the vaccine,” DeSantis told press conference in Port Charlotte Thursday.

Vaccinations began Thursday at 43 Winn-Dixie pharmacies in Florida, including one at 2950 Southwest 9th Street in Vero Beach. In accordance with Winn-Dixie COVID-19 Vaccine Website, all appointments are reserved statewide.
Still, dates are still open at Walmart and Sam’s Club locations.
Starting Friday, the COVID-19 vaccine will be administered at the following Walmart stores in our display area:
- 5100 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce
- 2101 South Parrott Avenue, Okeechobee
- 10855 South US 1, Port St. Lucie
- 1850 Southwest Gatlin Boulevard, Port St. Lucie
- 902 Southwest St. Lucie West Boulevard, Port St. Lucie
The vaccine will also be administered at the location of this Sam’s Club in our area of vision:

On the next screen, confirm that you are entitled to the COVID-19 vaccine. You must be a Florida resident 65 years of age or older, a health care provider who has “direct contact with patients,” a resident or staff member of a long-term care center, or a Florida resident who is considered “extremely vulnerable to COVID-. 19 by hospital providers “.

“We have 119 Walmart and Sam’s Club stores in 34 counties. So starting tomorrow morning, you’ll have seniors who can get shot at all these Walmarts,” DeSantis said Thursday. “It will be a good starting point.”
In addition to Walmart, Sam’s Club and Winn-Dixie, about 600 Publix pharmacies in 41 Florida counties continue to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible Florida residents.
The next window to make an appointment at Publix will open on Friday at 7 am, followed by Monday at 7 am

Earlier this week, DeSantis said Florida will have to receive 325,000 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine of the federal government this week, which exceeds the 307,000 doses last week and the 266,000 doses Florida had received weekly earlier.
“This puts us in a much better position in terms of vaccine supply than we’ve been,” DeSantis said.
According to the latest figures from the Florida Department of Health, 2,110,794 people in Florida have received the COVID-19 vaccine, including 1,557,223 people age 65 and older.
