These school districts in the San Antonio area are closed on Friday due to the winter weather

SAINT ANTHONY – Due to the expected winter conditions in San Antonio and surrounding areas, several school districts are announcing closures for Friday. On Thursday, the area already saw a lot of rain and some ice as a result of the colder temperatures.

KSAT meteorologists also forecast lower temperatures than frost and a chance of winter precipitation, starting late Sunday and early Monday.

The following are the schools closed on Friday:

“Bandera ISD has been monitoring the weather conditions in the area. Taking into account the forecasts and in the best interest for the safety of students and staff, the school will be canceled on Friday 12 February 2021 ”.

“Due to inclement weather and the threat of icy roads, classes at Blanco ISD have been canceled for Friday, February 12, 2021.”

“Due to inclement weather and unpredictable icy weather forecasts, there will be no school for face-to-face or home students on Friday, Feb. 12. School for students will resume on Wednesday, Feb. 17.”

Announcements

“As a great precaution for our students, staff and community, Friday 12 February will be a day of bad weather for KISD. Monday 15 February is still a student holiday. It is a day of staff development. “The staff will be on campus on Monday. We’ll see the students again at the usual time on Tuesday, February 16.”

“Due to continued rainfall and temperatures hovering around the freezing temperature, Leakey ISD will have a two-hour delayed start by Friday 12/12/2021. The buses will also run two hours later than normal.”
