A dramatic video captured a Texas woman facing a man accused of breaking into her teenage daughter’s bedroom window. CBS DFW reports that a police control camera captured the moment Mother Phyllis Pena attacked the man who was allegedly out of the house looking at his 15-year-old daughter.
“I thought that at least I could do it, if I lowered it, broke it, whatever it was, then they would have a chance to get stuck,” Pena said. “The first instinct was to make sure he didn’t go any further.”
Jackson Lake Police
The Lake Jackson police department said officers were called home on the morning of Jan. 31 after receiving a report about “a suspicious man in the area who had looked inside a house window.”
Officers said a man matching the description tried to flee when he saw them. But the suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Zane Hawkins, was approached by Pena. Her daughter ran over and helped keep the suspect until officers caught up.
After the suspect was arrested, officers told the mother he had made a “very good attack.”
“The policeman punched me and said,‘ Hey, that’s how I heard it the jeans they are looking for a new defender, ”Pena said.
Hawkins went to jail and faces charges such as possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest and resisting detention.
