Man in Tennessee inherits $ 5 million from his dog

A dog in Tennessee will not live a dog life after the death of its owner.

Lulu, an 8-year-old border collie, will have a good life in Nashville because her owner inherited $ 5 million from her, WTVF-TV reported.

Martha Burton, Lulu’s caretaker, told the station that the dog’s owner, Bill Dorris, was a successful businessman who was unmarried and died in late 2020. In his will he determined that the money was placed in a trust for the care of the goose, and he authorized that Burton be reimbursed an amount for reasonable monthly expenses in this regard.

“He really loved the dog,” said Burton, who was a friend of Dorris’s and used to take care of the dog when he went on a trip.

She said she didn’t know if she could ever spend five million dollars on Lulu.

Dorris owned land along Interstate 65, where a controversial statue of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest stands. The fate of the statue and the rest of Dorris’ estate could be determined in a testamentary court, according to media reports.
