Michael van der Veen, Trump’s attorney, hit another team member and said, “Let’s go to Disney World,” according to Saturday’s Senate Pool reporter Christal Hayes of USA Today.

Trump was acquitted after a five-day trial in the Senate in a 57-43 vote. It took sixty-seven votes to get a conviction, which requires a two-thirds vote. Seven Republicans voted to condemn Trump along with all House Democrats.
Trump was accused by the House of inciting the crowd that attacked the Capitol on January 6th.
His lawyers argued that his pre-election statements were protected by the First Amendment and that it is not possible to convict a former president who cannot be removed from office.
Democratic prosecution officials argued that it is possible to convict a former president and that in doing so, a vote would have been held to prevent Trump from running for office.
