It has now been just over two months since Cyberpunk 2077 was released and yet, after several revisions and fixes, the game, and almost all of its issues, are still in place, and it seems to have changed a lot. little even this time.
The most important changes I noticed in Cyberpunk 2077 were some visual tweaks that made the game look better on Xbox Series X a couple of weeks after release. But other than that, only bug fixes have been fixed everywhere, but with hundreds more no it has still been fixed. And while there are some signs of improvement over the game’s performance on next-generation consoles, it’s still not very close to “good,” and I’m not just saying that despite the reviews and patches, Sony still hasn’t has agreed to sell Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS Store again, which led to low console sales for gaming in general.
In fact, the most important stories of the last two months have not been positive. The first big patch in the game actually introduced a game-breaking bug that was bigger than any problem I was trying to fix and that needed to be fixed soon after. Then, modders discovered an exploit that took a long time to shut down in CDPR, when it exposed a vulnerability that could allow people to enter your system through modifications or saved files created.

Finally, the biggest story of the last two months may be the extensive CDPR hacking, where the stated motivation was retaliation for CDPR’s recent behavior and cyberpunk-related issues. The source code of the game was stolen (just like Gwent and The Witcher 3) and it is unclear what long-term problems it may pose. Cyberpunk is supposed to get a bigger patch in February than in January and can solve more significant problems, but it is certainly possible that the consequences of this hack could postpone it, as it now has to dedicate resources to ensuring everything from source code to employee information.
Here you will notice a common thread: almost all of this has which has been worked on for the past two months has just been solutions for broken parts of the game. There are no quality of life updates, missing, trimmed, or promised content cannot be re-included. Nothing like that. And things that seem “wrong” like traffic AI or police AI are much bigger problems that can’t be solved so quickly, as they represent systemic problems within the game. Quality of life updates and new content can be added to the free Cyberpunk DLC later in the spring / summer, which has been delayed due to all these bug fixes / performance. Meanwhile, players are sitting around waiting for something as simple as the ability to cut their hair in the game.

I’ve been playing and disabling Cyberpunk for the past two months and you really notice how little has ultimately changed in their PC or console versions. There have been small improvements here and there and perhaps some search errors should be avoided, but it is clear that even another 2-3 month delay would not have been enough to fix what affects the game and would have required at least a year to combine them with deeper content solutions and issues.
I’ve always said that there’s a basic level of fun here, which is true, or I wouldn’t be in my third V variant. But here things move very, very slowly, and it’s not clear when significant changes will come to the game. Hopefully it’s with this February patch, which may still be planned.
