An 18-year-old Santa Barbara woman was arrested Sunday after stabbing an acquaintance several times at a Mesa home, according to the Santa Barbara police department.

Cora Vides
Cora Vides was admitted to the Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, police spokesman Anthony Wagner told Noozhawk.
Lives, described in prison records as a student, remained in custody Monday afternoon, on bail set at $ 1 million, according to the sheriff’s department.
The adult victim, whose name was not disclosed, suffered “non-serious but very serious injuries,” Wagner said, and was being treated at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
He said officers responded to the hospital and a “crime scene” on block 600 of Robert Avenue, a block east of Meigs Road, in a residential neighborhood north of Cliff Drive.
Wagner said he could not provide any additional information about the victim, including gender. However, sources have informed Noozhawk that the victim is a young woman and also a student.
“It was an isolated incident,” Wagner said, “and there doesn’t seem to be any immediate threat to the public.”
Monday was the holiday of Presidents’ Day, so no criminal charges have been filed in the case, according to the district prosecutor’s office.
