The Secretary of the Department of Health, Carlos Mellado López, anticipated tonight that in the face of the inclement snowfall in the United States, the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine supply in Puerto Rico will be delayed.
“Everything hints that we will have a delay in vaccines destined for Puerto Rico due to snowfall in the United States,” Mellado said in a network post.
In view of this, the Secretary assured that in the coming days an adjustment will have to be made to the vaccination process in order to continue distributing the available doses.

The winter storm has already left at least 16 dead in the United States after blackouts that along with low temperatures have caused relentless conditions for millions of people.
President Joe Biden had pointed out earlier that the possibility of delays in moving and delivering vaccines was on the horizon.
