The National Association of Actors of Cuba reported a case of cyberbullying against an actress and issued a warning to guild professionals about the danger they are exposed to when handing over intimate photos to cybercriminals.

“From this platform we want to denounce a case of cyberbullying, impersonation, and attempted cyberbullying and‘ sextortion ’,” the Association reported via a post posted on its Facebook account.

Apparently, several Cuban actresses have been contacted via the social network Instagram since early February by one or more people who have impersonated prestigious institutions and directors, with the intention of getting intimate photos of them. To obtain them, the criminal or criminals created fake accounts of Cuban filmmakers Juan Carlos Cremata, Gerardo Chijona, or Chilean Silvio Caiozzi.

“The person hiding behind these profiles shows interest in these actresses for an alleged production that would be very well paid, talks about an alleged casting and demands intimate photos with the justification of needing to decide whether the actress can choose the role or not. It also puts pressure on the photos to be sent as soon as possible, “denounces the National Association of Actors of Cuba.

Cyberbullying or virtual harassment is the use of digital media to harass a person or group of people through personal attacks, disclosure of confidential or false information among other means and, according to Wikipedia, may constitute a criminal offense.

For its part, sexual extortion or extortion is a form of sexual exploitation, in which a person is induced or blackmailed – usually by Internet messaging applications with a naked image or video of themselves or performing sexual acts.

In general, extortionists communicate with victims through fake social media profiles under deception of good intentions. According to the digital encyclopedia consulted, the victim is coerced into having sex with someone, delivering more erotic or pornographic images, money or some other consideration, under the threat of disseminating the original images if he does not accede to the demands of the extortionist. .

“We want to warn actors and actresses of this danger. We must always protect our integrity and our image, and check the legitimacy of profiles on social networks,” advises the Association, while reporting that, fortunately, no of the actresses contacted fell into the trap and reported these profiles on Instagram.

The fake identities used were: ICRT (with fake account @icrt_oficial), Juan Carlos Cremata (@silviocaiozzi), Gerardo Chijona (no need for his fake profile name) and Silvio Caiozzi (@silviocaiozzi).

The Association also requests that the information be shared and the account reported: https://instagram.com/silviocaiozzi?igshid=1fghyoxi2nbxu

This form of harassment has also been suffered by artists such as Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber, among other points, who have even decided to leave their accounts on the web to avoid negative and hateful comments , as reported Infobae.

Cyberbullying, according to this digital portal, is an increasingly common practice. The victim is intimidated and threatened through social media or the web to place them in a state of vulnerability and even depressive.

In June 2019, the case of sextortion suffered by 21-year-old actress and singer Bella Thorne, famous for her work on ‘Famous in love’, and the Disney Channel series ‘Shake it up’, became known. as he explained Yasss, The news portal of Mediaset Spain, Thorne explained that she had been blackmailed into posting some images that she sent a person through her Twitter account.

Faced with pressure from the cyberbully, Bella Thorne decided to report the case to the FBI and also post these photos in which her naked body could be seen on her social media to turn off her threats: “Tonight I will sleep better knowing that I have regained power. You cannot control my life and you will never be able to. “
