Florida women disguised themselves as “grandmothers” to get the COVID vaccine

This “big” scheme didn’t go very far …

Two Florida women disguised as “grandmothers” in an attempt to get vaccinated against COVID-19, health officials said Thursday.

His absurd attention included “the coats, the gloves, the glasses, everything,” Dr. Raul Pino, director of the Florida Department of Health in Orange County.

Workers at the Orange County Convention Center vaccine site noticed the women “looked funny” and stopped them before receiving the shots, Pino said, according to WKMG-TV.

There had also been a problem with the identifications and driving licenses they provided, Pino noted.

The duo arrived for their second dose of vaccine.

Pino said he didn’t know how they got their first shot, and it’s unclear if they used the same trick.

“I don’t know how they escaped for the first time,” he said.

The incident was handed over to local authorities, who issued warnings of rape of the women.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said one of the women was 44 years old and the other was 34 years old, local WWL-TV reported.

In Florida, only adults 65 and older, health care workers and residents, and assisted personnel can access the vaccine.

Pino said the number of people trying to fake their identity to get the shot is probably “higher than we expect.”

As a result, security at the vaccination site has been expanded, he said.
