The sporting personality of radio and television, Colin Cowherd, never brakes when it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his last run against the Steelers, Cowherd fully turned to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, his preparation and philosophy, and his relationship to the problem the Steelers are facing.
Cowherd even went so far as to say that the Steelers sold their souls for Roethlisberger. He called his lack of preparation for the offseason, bad practice habits, the simplified offense running Pittsburgh and his inability to work with the utmost talent.
Hard words and the first time I heard them, it didn’t cheer me up a bit. But after unpacking everything Cowherd said, maybe it’s not that far off. This team has always gone as far as Roethlisberger will take them and has not been to the Super Bowl in the last ten years. Perhaps the time would have come for Pittsburgh to withdraw from aid to say so and restart that franchise.
