A young Honduran father and father died in the late 19th century Texas, USA after inhaling toxic gases when trying to keep his home warm in front of the cold wave whipping American territory.
The Honduran, identified as Kevin Ayala, Seeing how low temperatures froze his home, with no electricity, due to the blackout in several states by the winter storm, he decided turn on a portable generator which activated the home heater.

Ayala lived in the United States, after emigrating from Honduras, with his wife and son, to the state of Texas. After turning on the generator, the young man should inhaled toxic gases which came off the apparatus, which left him unconscious and he later died.
His wife recounted, “Nothing they did made him come back. He was already dead from the house.” It happened fast. We were all unconscious inside the house. ”The young man received medical attention at the home, but despite multiple attempts to resuscitate him, it was not possible.

Katherine Padilla reported that the generator remained on for 1 hour. “Then we go to bed to sleep when he gave us sleep,” he says. After that, he describes that his son started convulsing and that he doesn’t remember anything. The three remained unconscious for more than 1 hour.
“I couldn’t move my lips. They started giving us oxygen,” Padilla describes. Ayala was taken to a care center but arrived without vital signs. While his wife, pregnant, and four-year-old son remained in a hospital until they were discharged.
