PHILADELPHIA – Receiver DeSean Jackson has been released by the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced Friday.
“Looking forward to my next chapter,” Jackson published to her Instagram story before the ad became official. “Philadelphia is always love. I appreciate everything.”
The Eagles acquired Jackson, 34, from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019, reuniting the receiver with a deep threat with the team that drafted him in 2008.

Jackson fueled the excitement with a pair of touchdowns of more than 50 yards at the 2019 opener against the Washington football team, but injuries have limited his overall impact the past two seasons. He played just three games in the 19th due to a central muscle injury and missed 11 games last season with an injured ankle.
When Jackson is released, the Eagles are expected to get about $ 6 million in relief. Philadelphia is currently expected to exceed $ 50 million above the 2021 salary cap and will continue to lose salary before the league starts in March.
Jackson has recorded more than 60-yard touchdowns (24) in NFL history and ranks sixth in yards per reception (17.4).
