A month from now, The hawk and the winter soldier arrives at Disney +, reintroduces fans to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) in an independent series set shortly after Avengers: Endgame. To celebrate the anniversary, Marvel Studios released another quick teaser as a small gift to fans. Among other new character captures we’ve already seen, the teaser also includes a quick snapshot of the American agent (Wyatt Russell).
Interestingly, Russell’s character has largely remained out of marketing so far, as so far the exact same plan has been used in all teasers. Now, you can see the character around the 17-second mark in the teaser, which you can see in full at the top.
Retaining important traits related to the American agent is a particularly interesting option, as Mackie himself has said that the series is largely about a battle for the rightful owner of the iconic star shield and stripes of Captain America.
“Look, at the end of Endgame, Sam didn’t accept the shield. If you remember, he told Steve [Rogers]”It doesn’t feel right because the shield is yours.” So the program is a long way to go to understand who Captain America will be, ”Mackie revealed. “Where will the shield end. And, Who will be Captain America, and will that nickname come back? Will anyone hold that nickname again?”
“It’s a really good show, I was worried when I heard it play for the first time,” Mackie began. “Quality was lost. That would become this idea of what these movies might be and that they wouldn’t be able to do the action sequences and give us the look we’re used to when it comes to these Marvel movies. The action sequences are mind-blowing. The story is fantastic, you really know the characters and you fall in love with the characters. As you can see with WandaVision. It just takes you further into the universe. Therefore, it will not disappoint. I’m excited for people to see it. “
The hawk and the winter soldier premieres at Disney + starting March 19th.
