Two Florida women presented themselves as seniors in an effort to get the coronavirus vaccine (COVID-19), according to body camera images released Friday.
According to the Florida Department of Health Dr. Raul Pi, aspiring cheaters appeared Wednesday at the inoculation site of the Orange County Convention Center “disguised as grandmothers” in order to get their second dose of the much-sought-after pharmaceuticals.
“We haven’t run out of guns willing to get vaccinated,” Pino told local CBS affiliate WKMG. “We also have people who prefer to be old to get vaccinated. So yesterday we noticed that a couple of young ladies came disguised as grandmothers to get vaccinated for the second time, so I don’t know how they escaped the first time, but they got vaccinated. The coats, the gloves, the glasses … all in all and they were probably in their twenties ”.
According to police, the couple was slightly older than that. One woman is said to be 34 years old, while another is 44 years old.
“There were some issues with their IDs and their driver’s license, but I don’t know all the details about them,” Pino added.
Apparently, the women used their real names, but they used fake birth dates. Finally, law enforcement appeared.
“Do you know what you did? You stole a vaccine from someone who needs it more than you and now you won’t get your second, “a woman MP can be heard.” So that’s a waste of time we just lost here. So we are here at this point, but only because of your selfishness to steal a vaccine. “
Their names have not been released to the media and they are unlikely to become part of the public record because the duo faces no charge. No arrests were made and they were warned that their behavior could have been charged as an offense.
“Okay, this is an offense warning,” says a sheriff’s deputy in the images. “You are warned that you are not licensed or encouraged to be in these facilities and you may be arrested if you refuse to leave or return at any time in this building or in other buildings, the garage, everything, all property here “It’s ridiculous that you’re even here right now.”
Then one of the women thanked the officers for their clemency and the failers who caught the vaccine continued on their way.
“It’s a little fun for a certain sense, but it’s also disappointing because they take the place that someone else, with a much bigger need, could have had that place,” Pino said before the images were posted.
He also noted that he was unaware of how they were able to get their first dose, or even if they got it.
“So part of the conclusions we have to make is that they were actually vaccinated by us, when (they were) vaccinated, what happened, what date, what time to try to find out if there are holes, cracks, in the process that allows people to do it, ”the head of the health department added.
