The other model is the clinic that does not have an agreement but the client can access it as long as he is authorized but in this case a refund is made. “This means clients have enough veterinary clinics at their service nationwide,” Uribe said.
Plans for dogs range from $ 63,000 to $ 160,000 a month depending on breed, size and age, for example a puppy is not going to get sick much and its cost is lower. In the case of cats it is between $ 50,000 and $ 90,000.
These plans cover everything from the puppy vaccine to the cremation of the pet, to surgeries, hospitalizations, laboratory tests, ultrasounds, among others.
However, companies like Pets Colombia also offer prepaid medicine with plans that fit different budgets. For example, they have one that costs $ 444,000 a year and can be paid in monthly installments of $ 37,000 but also has one in which the monthly payment is paid which is $ 31,990.
However when you look at the coverage it looks more like a care plan because it has telephone consultations on topics like medical guidance to legal issues for third party damages; but it also covers medical expenses for accident or illness, sterilization assistance, and pet loss assistance, among other items.
Something similar happens with EPS Pets that more than prepaid medicine offer preventive medicine that as the company points out “will be cheaper than the corrective, so you get is a double benefit, to receive the services of the contracted plan avoid highly costly corrective procedures “.
In EPS Pets there are plans that cost more than $ 3.3 million a year for dogs over seven years and includes vaccinations, deworming, consultations among others.
For its part, Global Insurance has a basic insurance plan that costs $ 20,000 a month and covers medical expenses for accident, euthanasia service for illness and funeral assistance.
