According to reports, Xbox will hold a Bethesda-related event next month

Microsoft announced last year that ZeniMax Media and its subsidiary Bethesda Softworks would be acquired by the corporation and included in its Xbox Game Studios lineup in 2021. However, outside of the general announcement of the acquisition, the The Xbox team hasn’t talked much about what this move means for all parties. That said, it looks like this silence will soon end.

Mentioned by GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb in the latest GamesBeat Decides podcast, it is said that Xbox plans to hold an event of some sort related to Bethesda in the near future. Grubb says this will be one of the tent events that Xbox will hold until E3 2021. “Once the deal is closed, they will talk about it extensively. I don’t know if it will be like a full live-style event, but they will take note of it and talk about it extensively and explain what it means to everyone, “Grubb explained.” Expect this to happen in mid-March. “

The reason Xbox has not held a presentation like this is that, as Grubb mentioned, the deal to acquire Bethesda has not yet formally transpired. Although the intention to acquire the publisher was announced last year, the deal is not actually closed for a few more weeks. As such, Microsoft has had to remain a bit silent about what it intends to do with Bethesda and its studies, or else it would break the law.

While we still don’t know exactly what Xbox plans to do with Bethesda, one of the most important questions many fans have asked has been about how the exclusives work. Games previously announced as Starfield i The Elder Scrolls 6 which was believed to reach all platforms in the future (including PlayStation) could now be related only to Xbox and PC. The Xbox team has not provided any specific details on how to handle the advancing exclusives, other than to say that each game will be managed on a case-by-case basis. This upcoming event may shed more light on the situation for the future.

Viously, obviously, if we hear anything about this showcase, it should be relatively soon. As such, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here on ComicBook.com if it’s officially announced.
