The back lanes of New York are scheduled to close the Trump-owned ice rinks

The city is making a full “180” in its plan to close ice skating rinks operated by Trump.

City Hall on Sunday reversed Mayor Blasio’s decision to close Lasker and Wollman tracks in Central Park six weeks ahead of typical April closing dates, in an effort to freeze his political rival.

“New York City kids deserve all the time on the ice they can get this year. The Wollman and Lasker tracks will remain open under current management for the few weeks remaining this season, ”City Press Secretary Bill Neidhardt told The Post.

“But make no mistake, we will not do business with the Trump Organization in the future. Inciting insurrection will never be forgotten or forgiven.”

Hizzoner announced last month that he was canceling the city’s contracts with the Trump Organization, alleging that then-President Trump had incited a riot at the Capitol. Both tracks were due to close on Sunday.

The impressive reversal of the policy came after devastated skaters smoked over the weekend who should not be kept off the ice because of Hizzoner’s meat with the Trump administration.

“The real people hurting are the 2,500 kids who have benefited from the skating program this season and the 250 innocent employees who have been doing this for us,” said Lee Klausner, 49, who watched his skates two daughters.

On Sunday, Eric Trump applauded the city council’s decision to keep the tracks open.

“@NYCMayor Mr. Mayor: Thank you for keeping Wollman and Lasker Rinks open – you just made countless families in New York (along with our 250 employees). This is a brilliant time for New York and please know that we appreciate it. I really want to say “thank you” in person ” He wrote on Twitter.

It was not immediately known whether the tracks would remain open until April as in recent years.

Trump’s business group, led by his sons Donald Jr. and Eric, has been operating the tracks for more than three decades.
