Wii U remaster holds the top spot during the second week
Nintendo’s recent release of Switch Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury enjoys a second week at the top of the UK charts, after defending itself from the sales rush of the Electronic Arts football simulator FIFA 21. Although physical sales fell more than 60% in the first week, the Wii U remaster is now the new best-selling release of 2021 … But we still have a long way to go.
The rest of the Top Ten remains relatively stagnant, consisting mostly of big hitters from 2020. Nintendo continues to dominate with steady physical sales of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, i Ring Fit Adventure, while Activision Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Take-Two Interactive big car thief V they enjoy new sales every week. By Bandai Namco Small nightmares II came out of the Top Ten after just one week, a natural move for a typically niche title.
The first quarter of 2021 is relatively quiet, but the long-awaited role-playing sequel will be released this week Courage by default II, which will be released on Switch on February 26th. The current climate only reflects the state of so many new generations, where the first opening of release titles is immediately followed by a period of drought.
