Heidi Cruz is “angry” that texts showing her guest friends in the neighborhood about the family’s dull trip to Cancun were circulated in the press, according to Senator Ted Cruz, who ripped those responsible as “holes.”
The Texas GOPer tackled his nightmare from a PR to a trip to Mexico on the “Ruthless” podcast, which aired Tuesday.
“I’ll say Heidi is pretty angry with that,” Cruz said of the group’s text where her best half asked friends to flee to Cancun with them in the midst of “FREEZE” times.
Cruz noted he has a mix of Republican and Democratic neighbors in his exclusive River Oaks neighborhood in Houston, and said the leak was a sign of “how ridiculously politicized and nasty” people can get.
“Here’s a suggestion – just don’t be a hole,” he continued. “Like, you know, they treat each other like humans have a certain degree of respect,”
Cruz has been controlling the damage after he was caught flying to Cancun on Wednesday with his wife and two daughters, days after Texas was paralyzed by a life-only winter storm.
The senator was forced to interrupt his trip, return home the next day and apologize.
Cruz underwent an intense examination on the optics of the mini-vacation and, having left the family kitten, the snowflake, at home alone without power or heat.
“Apparently, I gave snowflakes to the wolves,” Cruz said, eliminating the reaction. “I was at home with a babysitter. The heat came on again. It’s all a bit absurd. “
She also criticized the media for posting photos of Heidi in her bikini on the beach.
“I’ll tell you she’s upset,” he joked.
At the beginning of his podcast interview, Cruz rebuked the usual joke that he was the infamous Zodiac Killer, which terrorized Golden State decades ago.
“Look, I haven’t had as much negative press coverage from Northern California in the 1960s,” he said.
