– More people in North Carolina are receiving COVID-19 vaccines as the state continues to give the green light to more suppliers to meet increased demand. In addition, the state sees a large increase in doses sent here.

Some figures from the state vaccine allocation report:

  • North Carolina sees a 23% increase in new first doses allocated by the federal government.
  • New data from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services shows that 2.3 million people have received the Pfizer or Modern COVID-19 vaccine through state-registered providers.

  • Last week, the state received 162,875 new first doses.
  • Wake County has jumped from 11 to 27 vaccine providers.
  • Durham County has gone from 6 to 11 vaccine providers.
