This Tuesday, the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) received documents sent by the U.S. embassy, which contained three requests for extraction by a U.S. country.
In this sense, the President of the Court, Rolando Argueta, Convened a plenary session to appoint the judges who will meet the extradition requests.
After being appointed, the togats will analyze the documents to determine whether the extraditions of the three people, whose names are unknown, come from.
It should be remembered that the last time a Honduran was extradited occurred in 2019. During 2020, there were no extraditions and to date the expatriation of José Rafael Sosa Méndez, Extradition has already been granted by a judge.
Since 2014, Honduras has extradited more than 20 Hondurans to the United States, accused of introduce drugs or money laundering in this country.
A constitutional reform approved in 2012 enabled the extradition of Hondurans at the request of other countries, with Carlos Arnaldo “The Black Wolf”, the first to be expatriated to the northern nation.
