Lexus has finally revealed the secret V8 car it has i have been working. This time it’s not called IS F, But. All new for 2022, now called IS 500 F Sport.
I have a problem with this name which I will get to a bit. But if you cross the specs, you’re sure to be an artist.
This fall, the IS500 does not use turbos or superchargers like other car manufacturers. Everything is natural in Lexus. Its 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 brings 472 horsepower and 395 horsepower free-feet of pair. Note that this is the same V8 that sees the duty on RC F and LC coupons.
This power is directed to the rear wheels through itautomatic speed which is found in basic IS models. Don’t worry, though, it’s been optimized for performance. Lexus claims a time of 0 to 60 of 4.5 seconds. You will get 24 mpg on the road.

The changes below are a bit strongmonth, sharing with IS350 F Sport components such as limitedsliding differential and adaptive shock absorbers. These are combined with a standard dynamic handling package that should make this funn winding roads. It’s weird, but one would think that Lexus would have put more strain on the engineering model.specific features for the IS500 instead of sharing them with a more basic model. The only pieces that improve performance which seem exclusive to the IS500 are its largest brakes (14 inches front, 12.7 inches rear) and 19 inches Rodes Enkei. Lexus says these wheels are lighter than the 350 F Sport.
It will be easy to differentiate between an IS500 and an IS350 on the outside. Its pumped hood, its Enkei wheels and its rear spoiler and the diffuser are model specific. And making a gesture with the past, Lexus has recovered the quad exhaust from the IS F. It remains to be seen, however, if they are really connected to anything.
Inside, the differences are subtle. The IS500 features a digital instrument panel, reinforced sports seats, aluminum pedals and a steering wheel with a small F Sport badge. There are no special cuts, no contrasting seams or anything else special. Just looking inside, you can’t really say it’s a performance model. There areor there is still a word about prices
While it’s a welcome addition, especially because it has a V8, I have a problem with both the name and the F brand. This model solidifies that F as a support.the performance mark alone is not really a thing with Lexus. F emerged as a performance response to M, AMG, and so on. Except that nothing worth mentioning ever came out.
IS F reached the headlines and then disappeared, the RC F is an old-fashioned performer (he wasn’t much of a performer when he debuted) and the GS F has been largely forgotten. Since then, the brand has beenshow no-keep trimming for all models in the Lexus line.
This new name of the SI implies there is a standard IS500 and this model is an F Sport verosion of this model. If F will not be a thing, Lexus has to come out and say it. Otherwise, this IS500 should be interesting, especially with it being one of the latest new V8 models before entering our future EV.
