Did the official Pokémon Twitter account only cause the return of a diamond and a pearl?

Diamond and Pearl Pokémon

This weekend, February 27, the Pokémon series celebrates 25 years since the release of the original Game Boy titles.

There have already been rumors and now the official Pokémon Twitter account seems to be joining the fun. He is currently counting down different generations of pocket monsters. With four days to go, the following tweet is shared that says “Come on, Sinnoh.”

While the same account has referred to other Pokémon games and generations in the daily countdown, this particular tweet some very excited fans.

The Sinnoh region was first introduced to the fourth generation next door Diamond and Pearl Pokémon for Nintendo DS.

In case you forgot, last month, Spanish fan Centro Pokémon would have confirmed that Switch remakes of DS Pokémon Diamond & Pearl titles were in development and would be revealed around Pokémon Day, February 27th.

“Pokémon Center can confirm that, according to sources close to the company, the remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, originally released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS, are in development for the Nintendo Switch.”

A much older rumor dating back to 2019 suggests that possible remakes of Diamond and Pearl would include “let’s catch” (the capture mechanic who first appears in the Pokémon: Anem games). Pokémon Center has said new versions I wouldn’t so be it, but rather with a style closer to the original 2006 versions.

Since its original report, Pokémon Center remains equally safe something “Big” is on its way: with its Twitter account last week it posted a message that fans “won’t have to wait until Pokémon Day on February 27 to get the big news” (Google translation). Attached is a clip of the legendary Diamond, Pearl and Platinum:

If that’s not enough, it looks like the Poké Ball Plus (first released along with the Let’s Go games) is getting a timely reissue. Last year we saw reprints of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild champions that eventually led to the announcement of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Keep in mind that we are just days away from Pokémon’s 25th anniversary, so everything will be revealed soon. What do you do about it yourself? Leave a comment below.
