The Los Angeles County Sheriff said Tiger Woods was “not drunk” during the dump that seriously injured the golf superstar on Tuesday, and said the crash of a vehicle was “purely an accident.”
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said his department would not file any charges against Woods related to the crash near the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes, about 30 miles south of downtown of Los Angeles.
Villanueva said the department considers it an accident, which can result in a foul at most.
“He wasn’t drunk,” Villanueva said Wednesday on Instagram Live. “We can pull it off.”
As part of a statement on Woods’ official Twitter account, Dr. Anish Mahajan of Harbor-UCLA Medical Center said in part that Woods had suffered multiple “open fractures” in his lower right leg and had a wand. placed in the tibia and screws and pins inserted in the foot and ankle during emergency surgery.
Woods, 45, was “awake, sensitive and recovered in the hospital room,” according to another part of the statement.
