The first review of Bravely Default II is now

Courage by default II

The first revision of Bravely Default II, the new Square Enix role-playing game to be released on Switch this Friday, has now arrived courtesy of Japanese publisher Famitsu.

The Famitsu scoring system has four different reviewers who value the game of ten; in this case, all teams in the magazine gave the title a score of nine, resulting in an overall score of 36/40 (thanks, Ryokutya2089 / VGC).

As VGC noted, Famitsu also gave Bravely Second: End Layer a score of 36/40 in the past, while the first Bravely Default scored slightly higher than 38/40. The review of the Bravely Default II publication praises the old-school feel and plot of the game, noting that it “retains a bit of old-fashionedness” despite being tailored for modern audiences.

Be sure to stay tuned for our own review of the game before this Friday’s release and feel free to let us know if you’ll purchase a copy in the comments. If you missed it, the game’s “final trailer” was shared last week.
