A painting of a Paris street scene by Vincent Van Gogh was shown in public for the first time. On Wednesday, British auction company Sotheby’s announced that the 1887 painting will be presented for the first time in Hong Kong, Amsterdam and Paris.

Van Gogh’s painting will be auctioned in March and is estimated to sell for up to $ 7 million. The auction company said the painting was previously privately owned and had never been seen in person.

“The painting is a real rediscovery, which means that while it has been published in full catalogs, it has never reappeared on the market since the day it was acquired by the owner family,” said the Sotheby’s auctioneer. Claudia Mercier. “So it’s been over a century since this painting has been in private hands.”
